La’MiyaStrong. This isn’t just an adjective, it’s a way of life. When La’Miya was diagnosed with cancer, it turned her world upside down in a moment. While her family became fearful of what was to come, La’Miya showed courage.

Cancer treatment meant putting things on hold that she loved to do, like taking dance classes. However, the dance community embraced their fellow dancer in many ways, including help from Dancers Against Cancer. This organization stepped up to bring La’Miya and her family some joy and support when they needed it most.

“Our mission is to create an alliance in the dance community that provides financial support and inspiration to dance educators, choreographers, dancers and their families who have been impacted by cancer.” – Dancers Against Cancer

Armed with a community of support, La’Miya took on this battle with courage, strength and a smile. At just four years old, she has overcome more than most people will face in their lives and she inspires everyone she meets.

Thank you supporting La’Miya and her family.

Gratefully,

Sarah Curry Rathel
